FAQS –

Your Rapeseed oil is higher priced than in supermarkets?

It is possible to buy rapeseed oil in the Super Markets for about 99p but Pratts English Extra Virgin cold pressed Rapeseed oil is very different from the refined Rapeseed Oils.

The Premium Pratt’s Rapeseed Oil is cold pressed. The oil is pressed from the seed at temperatures below 40 degrees to retain all the natural goodness and flavour. The refined rapeseed oil vegetable gives a very high extraction rate of oil form the seed.

Refined Rapeseed oil is usually obtained with the addition of sodium hydroxide and temperatures around 450 degrees, and is not considered edible without further processing such as filtration, deodorization and bleaching. Refined rapeseed oil is a completely different product only really suitable in the modern kitchen for deep fat frying.

Pratt’s Extra Virgin cold processed Rapeseed oil has a distinct flavour and is great for all types of cooking from shallow frying to dressings.

Which Rapeseed Oil is better?

The best way to see the difference between refined Rapeseed Oil and the Cold pressed Rapeseed Oil  is to go and buy the Refined Rapeseed Oil and test it against the Pratt’s cold pressed extra virgin Rapeseed oil – You will see the difference – taste the difference – cook with the Refined Oil – Use the Refined Oil as a Salad dressing etc. Then you will then understand why Pratt’s English Extra Virgin Cold Pressed Rapeseed oil is better for you and great to use in your various food dishes!
